Business Opportunities
Sponsorship is often regarded as “allowing others to pay for your enjoyment”, but this is not how we, as Tom’s Management Team see this. We see it as facilitating a business opportunity. In the same way that a company may use a newspaper or magazine to advertise their product or service, we aim to increase a company’s sales and therefore profit by opening doors and making connections.
We work with the supporter, using our contacts and extensive network, to open new marketing possibilities, whilst at the same time allowing the supporter to utilise the high quality potential of being associated with the brand, BMW.
Let us look at an example:-
A small bakery (employing less that ten people) near Tom’s home, produces hand made cakes. It happens to be called “Tom’s Cakes” and we approached them as a potential sponsor. Understandably, he was unsure about what we could do for him, so we set about showing him.
We took sample cakes along to the next race meeting, and gave them to the BMW Hospitality, but more importantly to the track commentators. The result was astonishing! As the race start was delayed the commentator started to go through the grid, and mentioned Tom’s Cakes when he got to Tom. There then followed a good five minute advert in front of 30,000 waiting spectators, and Tom was interviewed while he sat on the grid!
At the next meeting, the commentator actually mentioned that he’d not received his Tom’s Cake for the day, and the “ball had started rolling”. The next thing was that the BMW Hospitality suite was beginning to ask questions. Now Tom’s Cakes is in the position where expansion into the adjoining industrial unit is a distinct possibility, and again we have been able to help. We have put Tom’s Cakes in contact with an International Consultant, specialising in catering and food preparation. And all this from supplying a few samples!!
Remember, by the very fact that you have read this, means that you now know of Tom’s Cakes too!
With the abolition of tobacco advertising in motorsport, there is now a window of opportunity for other companies to exploit this market place. We are in the fortunate position of having access to probably the most prestigious corporate hospitality suite outside of Formula One. The BMW suite offers a relaxed, yet impressive meeting place for trade negotiations, over a sumptuous lunch and cooling drink or two. In partnership with us, you can make use of these facilities and with our contacts we can turn your investment into clear profit.
